The USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance has, in the last decade, established itself as a leader and dynamic force in dance education both in Los Angeles and across the world. Kaufman’s hybrid model combines the artistic rigor of a conservatory dance education, including in-studio practice, choreography, performance, and new media, with the unparalleled academic opportunities of USC.
At Kaufman, our students work regularly with leading artists through our robust Visiting Artists initiative and perform on iconic professional stages, including The Soraya, Jacob’s Pillow, and The Joyce Theater in NYC. Students travel internationally for Maymesters and collaborative projects with organizations including the Paris Conservatory for Music and Dance and London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Each year, all cohorts present student-choreographed works.
In this decade of dance, Kaufman’s alumni have gone on to become Broadway and West End stars, filmmakers, choreographers, educators, and artists shaping the future of dance on stages and screens around the world.
The USC Kaufman Community
The USC Kaufman community of alumni, parents, and donors helps ensure that we have the resources necessary to provide the best opportunities for our students to thrive at USC Kaufman and beyond. We are ever grateful for our community whose support helps us attract, recruit, and retain top scholar-artists, produce transformative student dance performances, create meaningful cross-cultural travel experiences, and attract renowned faculty.
